The Doctor of Ministry program provides students who are engaged in ministerial leadership the opportunity to achieve greater competency in Ministry and challenges them to reflect more deeply on their own theological and spiritual development as men and women of God. All of which takes place as students are fully engaged in their ministries.
The M.Div. program equips students with practical skills for diverse forms of ministry. Contemporary religious leaders must be equipped with a variety of skills necessary for their multi-faceted role as pastor, teacher, counselor and public figure. Divinity students will gain competencies in the tasks of ministry which include theological communication, evangelism, pastoral counseling, public relations, management of church resources and leadership.
The The M.A. in Religious Studies is a broad-based degree program for students who seek to integrate their faith with knowledge of religions and their impact on society, and who seek to equip themselves for a variety of ministries, especially for the task of building peace among religions and cultures. The program prepares students for a wide variety of positions and jobs. These include church lay leadership; peace-building and social service ministries in churches, faith communities and non-profits; work in interfaith ministries; as more effective witnesses for their faith in today’s multi-faith environment; management positions in churches and non-profit organizations; teaching religion in an academic setting and for those who wish to pursue further graduate work in religion. The MA in Religious Studies is also the base degree for interfaith chaplaincy.
The M.R.E. program develops educators and peace workers who are equipped to address all the dimensions of peacebuilding: peace within the individual, peace within the family and peace among the world’s peoples, nations, religion and races. The curriculum is rooted in the premise that peacebuilding requires attention first to the spiritual causes of conflict as a foundation for effective practical action.
The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) program with a major in World Religions and Philosophy. Students can also minor in three disciplines: business, media arts, and human development and family studies. UTS is not accepting applications for the undergraduate program for the 2015-2016 academic year at this time.
Each of UTS’ programs strives to balance theological instruction with training in practical skills.
These are just a few of the reasons why you should study at UTS – It is the right degree at the right time.
