Mother Earth smiled on us as we celebrated Earth Day on Sunday, April 22nd. Cecilia St. King and her band - Vincenza Dante, Sean Crimmins, Joe Tobin and Chris Kovach – stirred the souls and hearts of the audience with an inspiring concert in the Interfaith Chapel, featuring many of Cecilia’s original songs including “Peace On Earth” and “Your Word is Magic.”
Everyone then streamed into the sunshine and walked to the Peace Sanctuary, where a new Peace Pole was dedicated by the side of the labyrinth, and a tree was planted to honor our commitment to our planet. Gradually the labyrinth filled with people walking in quiet reflection and sending their prayers for peace on earth. After the walk, many people lingered on, reluctant to leave a place of such beauty and peace, finally doing so with the knowledge that The Peace Sanctuary is always there and ready to receive them.
