Are you a Lifelong Learner?

Continuing-EducationProgressing in our path of faith is a process of opening new doors and finding new ways to understand ourselves and the world around us. It is discovering new possibilities to serve others.

UTS is committed to enriching the growth of lifelong learners, both clergy and laity. Its continuing education ranges from courses that address world religions, church history, and the reality of the spirit world to more practical needs for ministry in the field, incorporating a more experiential approach, which include personal reflection, discussion and creative learning.

Many of these are offered online, or at our NYC location at 43rd street or as intensive courses in cities around the country.

Whether you want to enhance your skills, develop new ones, or just want to expand your mind, UTS Lifelong Learning is the place to be! The following courses can be taken by ANYONE who wants to learn, including those with graduate degrees or no college experience at all! CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are available for many of these courses.

Online courses for continuing education are offered independently of regular semesters around the following times:

  • "Fall Online Courses" (late September)
  • "Winter Online Courses" (early February)
  • "Spring Online Courses" (late March)

You can register and pay for any of the following courses online. If you have any further questions, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Capacity: 20 Students

Spiritual teachers and leaders such as Thich Nhat Hanh and Father Moon have often spoken about how digesting and overcoming painful, suffering experiences will deepen our connection to God's heart. Suffering becomes the “axis-mundi” for the “Jewel” or “Lotus-flower” of Heart. Becoming a chaplain develops inner spiritual strength from overcoming life's painful experiences, and being able to serve others with a "compassionate presence." By developing this gift in your life, your ability to be present to others in relationships within your ministry, your family and your world will be enhanced.

This course will be offered again in Spring 2012.

In five lessons Dr. Wilson discusses many details about Jesus and his mission, the phenomena of resurrection, and the thorny issues of Christology. We will look at chapters 4-7 in Part I of Exposition of the Divine Principle in considerable depth. This course is ideal for Divine Principle lecturers and teachers, as well as for ministers who regard the Divine Principle as a valuable foundation for their sermons.

This is an advanced course, meant for people who already have a solid basic knowledge of the Divine Principle. Students who are new to the Principle should first attend at least three church-sponsored Divine Principle seminars before they enroll in this course.
