Rev. Young Sik An (UTS’01) has been appointed to the position of Vice President for Family Federation for World Peace and Unification International and as Chairman of the Human Resource Development Center.

The Unification Theological Seminary community - its students, faculty and staff - lifts its hearts in prayer for the families of the shooting victims of Emmanuel AME Church in Charleston.  We, and all members of the body of Christ, were shocked at this horrific event.  At the same time, we honor the beautifully inspired coming together of people in prayer, forgiveness and love. May the hand of God continue to embrace and comfort the families and friends of the victims of this senseless and tragic crime!

The following is a funny introduction to the work being done in the Divinity Colloquium under Dr. Isaacs guidance.

There is a special group of students meeting regularly but rarely seen together on campus: as in “Harry Potter™” you might be let to think ‘what is that obscure group doing so secretly’? Well, they are the Divinity thesis writers, a gang of six who - under the cheery leadership of Dr. Isaacs - are trying their best to become specialists in at least one academic area and make ‘a modest contribution to knowledge’ (Divinity Program Handbook 2007-2008, p. 8).

So if you see someone with glassy, red eyes and knots in his hair: that might be one of them. Instead of being watched with contempt, that poor individual might need your compassion and/or constructive interest and critique. Here are the (working) titles of the accepted proposals of our seniors:

Mikio Yoshida: “Why God Cannot Cut Satan Away at Once: Relevance of Unification Teaching to Theodicy”

George Ogurie: “Collective Human Conscience as Product of Interfaith Dialogue”

Yasushi Kojima: “Importance of Management in NGO”

Shinichi Takeuchi: “How Science was affected by Theology: The Influence on Heisenberg, Einstein, and Schrödinger’s work”

Ravil Kayumov: “The Comparative Commentary of Selected Bible Verses Used In Exposition of the Divine Principle”

Gerhard Bessell: “Preparatory Investigation for Establishing an Academic Institution of the Unification Movement in Latin America: Guiding Philosophy and Practical Necessities with Reference to Guatemala”
