On Saturday July 4th, a group of 23 UTS graduates and friends met in the Derbyshire Peak District. This was a record number of attendees for the forum, with participants from the Continent as well as from different parts of the UK. The forum has evolved over the years from being just a meeting of UTS graduates to a more academic forum open to anyone with an interest in academic discussion of critical issues around Unificationism.

Rev. Eric Holt, adjunct Lecturer in Management and UTS Board of Trustees member, passed into the spiritual world on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 after battling cancer. He was a well-respected and loved friend and colleague. Eric was surrounded by his family, friends, pastor and church leaders and elders who prayed with and for him in his final hours.

He served as a Unification Church pastor in the United Kingdom, Louisville, Kentucky, Providence, Rhode Island and Tarrytown, New York and was also an active missionary and preacher throughout the United Kingdom and the United States. After serving as the pastor of the West Rock Church in Tarrytown, Eric embarked on a whole new career path that would ultimately bring him to his last position as the CFO and Treasurer for the Family Federation of America.

Eric demonstrated his extensive accounting and management experience in both the business and nonprofit sectors through his design of complex accounting and IT solutions for small businesses and non-profit organizations. In his course on Financial Management, Eric guided students through the complex field of investment and equities trading, asset management and the basics of sound fiscal management. He also authored several guidebooks for use in non-profit management. Eric, though, is remembered by his friends and colleagues for his skills as a chess master and his wry Scottish humor. Eric always had a kind word for people and treated others with the utmost respect and love. A devoted husband and father of three, Eric was the personification of integrity throughout his life as well as a loving and faithful man of God.

Services will be Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 8:30am at the Edwards Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, New York with interment immediately following in Sleepy Hollow cemetery.
